Even though I have been designing and developing websites for other people for over 8 years, this is the first time I actually have my own, personal site up and running. It is going to be a continuous work in progress as I add to my blog, wishlist and portfolio. I hope it gives those who stop by a small glimpse at who I am and what I've done.

While browsing through Craigslist the other day, I came across an ad that caught my attention. There wasn’t a lot of information given, but basically, it was offering free ASP.NET training in the evenings. I figured it didn’t hurt to give them a call to get more information.
It’s a class being offered by the Private Industrial Council. They received grant money to help improve technology job opportunities for Butte County. As a part of this plan, they have partnered with Butte College to offer a 7 week intensive ASP.NET training course. It is going to be held three nights a week from 6 – 9 on the Butte College Campus. This makes it very convenient for me.
I really think this will be a great way to get me started with .NET. I’ve wanted to learn it for quite a while, but haven’t seemed to be able to get the ball rolling. The chance at a class setting will definitely put me in a better position to be successful. Plus, it’s completely free! They even provide the book.
The only drawback is Connor. He’ll be asleep by the time I get home after class, so I won’t be able to see him until the next morning. It is going to be difficult being away from him for so long, but I believe it is going to be well worth it in the long run.

When I was hired here at Butte College a little over two years ago, it was my goal to use this job as a stepping stone to higher level positions. So far, I have been unsuccessful. Fortunately, there seems to be a new opportunity available on a fairly regular basis. The current one being the most exciting: an Information Systems User Support Services position.
I have applied for this position before, while I was on maternity leave, and was happy to hear I would have another chance. It’s been a busy month as I have taken quite a few certification tests and have more scheduled to study for. The application is due in about a month, so I will be doing all I can to give myself the best chance I can. Wish me luck!

So, I’ve been working on a new site… Country Lyrics Online
It’s going to take a while to get really going, since I have to input each song lyrics in by hand, but it should be worth it. Country music is really popular right now and hopefuly, I can take advantage of that 
Check out Kenny Chesney’s Song Lyrics. He’s the artist that I have the most songs published.
Anyway, keep checking back as I add more and more Country Music Lyrics!
