New Work Computer
I’ve been in IT-User Support Services for about five months now and, up until today, had the worst computer I’ve been assigned since starting here at Butte College. Even my computer as an Administrative Secretary I was better! All I did in that job was basic support, i.e. answer phones, simple spreadsheets, etc. It did seem a little odd to me that IT would be this far behind. Well, I was happy to learn about a month ago, that I would be getting a new computer!
The day has finally arrived and I now have a computer that I have yet to bog down. Unfortunately, it is a Vista machine, but that isn’t really that big of a deal. My home computer has Vista and I haven’t run into too many issues. What will cause some problems is that I will now have to troubleshoot some calls from memory, since I don’t have an XP machine like 80% of our users. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to get better!
I’m really happy with it so far…much faster and more efficient.
