I’ve been meaning to take the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist tests for quite some time now. I’ve been working in the Microsoft Office Suite for many years and have taken several classes on it. Well, the User Support position here at Butte has finally given me the push I needed to get them done.

I was a little nervous at first, since the tests would be done in Office 2007. I’ve been using 2007 for about 8 months on my work computer, but have yet to upgrade my home computer. Overall, the biggest difference just seems to be the ribbon. That makes it a bit easier, other than re-learning where everything is This helped me feel better about taking the tests on such short notice, since I wouldn’t have much time to study.

Apparently, the nerves were unwarranted! I have now passed both the Microsoft Word and Excel 2007 exams. I am really happy to have finally met this goal. Next come the rest of the exams…Access, PowerPoint and Outlook!
